Please Note: We are pleased to announce that the  first speaker in the 2011-2012 Space Frontiers Lecture Series will be Mr. Norm Augustine, holder of the National Medal of Technology, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Distinguished Public Service Award, five times Distinguished Service Medal honoree from the U. S. Department of Defense and chairman of the Advisory Committee on the Future of the U.S. Space Program (see The Augustine Report).  The title of Mr. Augustine’s presentation will be The Greatest Obstacle to Human Space Travel.  Please mark your calendars for 7pm Wednesday September 14 in the McMurtry Auditorium in Duncan Hall, Rice University (welcome reception at 6:30pm).
